Lost Tomb of Jesus?

Okay...so I think that it's safe to say that this news about the Lost Tomb of Jesus (and His family) is going to be a topic of discussion for quite some time. It'll be the topic of much heated debate amongst friends, family, and fellow workers. But as a Christian...should you watch it? Hmmm...that's a tough one.

On one hand you have this claim that Jesus was buried in a tomb, which would discount the belief that he arose from the dead, and that there was also family burried there with him, (Mary Magdelene and Judah, Son of Jesus - According to the articles). On the other you have...well...your faith. What do you do?

Do you watch just to see what they're talking about? What if it's just hype and ratings? What if it shakes your faith? Ooo...shakes your faith, that's an interesting one. A quick rhetorical question, wouldn't something that shakes one's faith give opportunity for their faith to grow stronger? Hmm...something to think about.

In the end...you have to personally make the call. I'll choose to watch it and here's the reason why. I feel I have an obligation. I'm confident that there will be (and are) many who will (or have) written this documentary off as farse.

There's one issue with that...if you don't watch it, how can you fully understand the reasoning and how do you have a leg to stand on for any arguement that rolls down the pipe. It's kind of like a "Don't vote...Don't complain" situation. "Don't watch...Don't complain".

That is my challenge to you. If you feel like you want to argue against whatever comes out of this documentary, I urge you to watch so that you can have a clear understanding of both sides and can have that right for a compelling arguement.

By the way...this isn't a rant by any means. I just remember the calls and complaints about "The DaVinci Code". Every time someone would come to me to complain about it, I would ask, "Did you read it?"..."No?"..."Then how do you know what you're talking about, how can you complain?". See my point?

As Christians, we struggle all the time. I'm struggling with this topic...I mean, one part of me thinks...How cool...they found Jesus, while another says, Yeah...but that's not how it happened.

Again...in the end for me...I feel like this can only strengthen my faith and may yours be strengthened as well!

If you would like to read up a little more on the whole thing head HERE. Oh! And don't forget to leave a comment if you have something to say!

Tractor Tire Sized Calamari Anyone?

As I traveled on another internet adventure to try and find something fun to talk about. I ran across an article that I couldn't pass on sharing.

I'm not a big fan of seafood, so tractor tire sized calamari don't sound too appetizing.

Apparently some fisherman off the coast of Antartica just caught the biggest squid. Check it out here are some pictures.

If you'd like to read the entire article, click here. It'll bring you to MSNBC.com

My only question...how did he get a 990 pound squid out of the water? How many men would you need for that?

And the Mii is...

Alright...so maybe the Mii thing is a little more difficult than I originally thought. I have have to step up and try to create REAL famous people.

As far as the answer to the first Mii I posted...here is a side by side comparison of the Mii and the Real Deal! Take a look!

It's JQ99's very own TROY WEST.

I think if this is a little fun thing that I continue...I'll try and make more familiar people!

Thanks for playing!

Guess Mii!

Got a new game for you...not sure how easy or hard it'll be, nor do I know how long I'll be able to continue to do it,...but here goes!

With my new Nintendo Wii, I can make little people to use in certain games. These people are called Mii's. As long as I can continue to make them, I'll try and make a game of it.

Here's the scoop, I'll show you a picture of the Mii and you need to try and guess who it is. Could be anyone from anywhere! Good Luck! Here's the first one!

I got it!

That's right...I got it! What is it exactly that I got? Take a look!

That's right...I got myself a Nintendo Wii. Got it on Sunday. Read on for the "Legend of Jeremy's Nintendo Wii"

I caught wind of some Wii's being delievered to Target for Sunday's flyer, so I decided to wake up early on Sunday to get there before they open so I could run in and grab one before Church, gotta keep the priorities straight.

I show up at about 20 minutes to 8 a.m., they open at 8 a.m. There was a line. Dang...oh well, I decided to wait, I wasn't to far back in the line after all.

Well then people started showing up a few minutes before 8 a.m., and worst of all they had tickets. Target had handed out tickets at 7 a.m., and if you had a ticket you'd get a Wii, they had 12 Wii's and 12 tickets had been handed out.

Looks like I wasn't going to get one. (Oh and by the way...try and ask the Target employees about the ticket thing over the phone and they'll deny that they're going to do it.) I met
some people in line who had called the day before and asked specifically about tickets and the employees said that Target wasn't going to do it. May be time to re-evaluate customer service.

Anyway...I went in and picked up some supplies for the day. (Laundry soap and a shower curtain.) Then I headed out. This is where things get exciting. Instead of heading home I decided to swing by Circuit City, because earlier in the week an employee shared with me how they were going to have some Wii's for their Sunday flyer and that they would be doing tickets. (I was trying to avoid the ticket thing, which is why I initally went to Target.)

Pulled into the parking lot and there was 1 car parked in the lot, and 2 by the front door. I decided to get out and see what time they opened. 10 a.m....and it's only 8:10 a.m., but wait...what's that...a sign. The sign explained that they had 11 Wii's and they would be handing tickets out at 9 a.m. and the guy who had been parked in the lot had been there since 10 to 6 a.m., and he said no one had come to get tickets yet.

So you guessed it...I waited outside...#2 in line for 50 minutes to get a ticket. Then I went home, got cleaned up for Church, then drove to Circuit City before Church and picked it up! Happy days!!

Oh and my fiancee is loving it too. She really likes making the Mii's. (Mii's are little characters you make that you use in certain games.) We spent a good amount of time making our friends.

Stay tuned for pics of some Mii's that should look familiar! :) I'll make a little game out of it!

That's all...Happy Gaming!

Big things are Happening!!

Okay...so you've read or heard about my engagement. Well recently...my fiancee and I nailed out a place, date, and reception hall. VERY EXCITING!!

This week however...more has happened!! WOOT!

We ordered our save the date cards! Take a look!

(This is the style of your cards, NOT actually our information!)

Not only did we order the save the date cards, but we also secured our cake lady! We're very excited about her. She provides JQ99 with very yummy pasteries and every cake I've had from her was extremely delicious. (No...I'm not paid to endorse her...it's just really good.) We're using Creations By Marcia over on the North Side, off of Lakewood Blvd. She can do anything!

Thanks for look...I'll keep you updated on any other exciting things.
