Hanso Exposed!

I'm a "Lost" fan. For a while I've been disappointed because ABC stopped running the reruns of the 2nd Season. Well at this point I'm done with being upset because the 2nd Season is coming out on DVD in the next couple of weeks! I'm excited, I can finally catch up with everyone else.

Well, in the mean time there was this game of sorts on the internet, where you had to find all these different codes and type them into this website which would then unlock little video clips, which you would then put in order and it reveals some pretty interesting information.

I got tired of trying to find the codes, not to mention that it took up a lot of time. The other day I ran across a video that has 53 of the 56 fragments. I thought I would pass it along. Most of it doesn't make sense to me because I haven't finished Season 2, however, by saving it on my blog I can come back to it.

For those of you who are interested in seeing the video here it is:

Hope that makes sense to you. If anything it should get you excited for Season 3 which I believe starts October 4th.

Photoshop Friday!

It's that time again...Photoshop Friday.

It didn't take too long to figure out exactly what kind of fun I would have today. I think it'll provide you minutes of aggravation and excitement!

Going back to my childhood, I remembered a series of books entitled: "Where's Waldo?"

Spinning that in a different direction, I decided to photoshop myself into a "Where's Waldo?" scene.

I'll be honest, it doesn't really show off my photoshop skills, but I thought it would be fun. I'll work a little harder next week. :)

So, without further ado, here it is...enjoy!

If you find me, leave a comment and let me know, that way you can help others if they are struggling.

**Don't look at the comment section if you don't want to know**

(Click on the picture...it'll make it bigger for you.)

If nobody finds me, I'll post the solution later in the week.

Oh...and Waldo and what looks to be a black & white version of Waldo are also hidden in here somewhere. They are not me.

MVEMJSUNP

Remember what "MVEMJSUNP" meant? Most of us learned it in elementary school.

My
Vervy
Excellent
Mother
Just
Served
Us
Nine
Pickles

(Some people learned different sayings, possibly a regional thing)
or

Mercury
Venus
Earth
Mars
Jupiter
Saturn
Uranus
Neptune
Pluto

This is the most disturbing event to take place in my life thus far.

My second favorite planet is no longer a planet. (My first favorite planet is Saturn)

About 25-hundred scientists from around the world have voted to downgrade the status of Pluto, saying it can no longer be considered a classical "planet." Instead, it will be put into a new category of heavenly bodies called "dwarf planets."

Now that the Solar System has just gotten a little smaller because of the change in Pluto's status, there are now just eight so called classical planets.

Sorry Pluto, you're still a Planet in my mind.

Now what is My Very Excellent Mother going to serve us?

It Really is the Simple Things...

Okay...so yesterday I had a little free time and spent it hanging out with one of my good friends.

We headed out to Grandville to "Music Store Hop" to look at guitars, bass', and other music goodies.

One of the stores we went to had the largest selection of acoustic guitars that I had ever seen. Which really doesn't say much, because I don't go to these stores very often.

In any case...it really made my day. Out of every instrument the one that sticks out in my mind is the Acoustic Guitar. The sound they produce is superior to all other instrument (in my mind) and the beauty of the craftsmanship as well as the beauty of the accents is just awesome.

Before you ask..."Yes...I can play." I'm not super good, but I'm not horrible. I'm kind of middle of the road. It's something I've picked up since I was 18, so since I'm turning 25 here in a little more than a week and a half, I guess I've been playing for about 6 years.

So at this store with the "largest selections of acoustic guitars you'll ever see" (sorry that sounds like a bad television ad) I spent a good portion of my time picking them up and playing. (You ARE allowed to do that.)

Needless to say, I couldn't stop smiling. There I was, surrounded by beauty, when I realized that it really is the simple things that make life good. I think everyone needs to find a simple thing, that way everyone will be happy.

One other really cool thing happened. There I was enclosed in this room of beauty when I picked up a guitar, started playing and then caught a glimpse of the price tag: $4,500.00! Yikes...wait...COOL!

Here's a picture of the guitar.

Photoshop Friday!

Okay...I've decided that since I love playing around with pictures and using Photoshop any time I get a chance, that every Friday I'm going Photoshop something for you.

This is the first week and since movies come out on Friday's I thought I would put myself into one of the new movies this week.

I think that this idea will be fun for me and you, and will hopefully improve my skills for Photoshop.

This weeks picture is from the movie "Snakes on a Plane." A movie that is expected to be pretty terrible, "B-Movie" style.

I do want to say, that by putting myself in these movies, or whatever else comes in the weeks to come, I'm not promoting them.

With that said, here's this weeks "Photoshop Friday Pic" Hope you like!

(don't worry, no snakes were harmed in the making of this image)

I've Got a New Best Friend!

Even though for most people commercials are their least favorite part of watching television, I must admit that there is a company out there, that has the most entertaining ones to watch.

They have so many things going for them in the commercials, humor, a great mascot, and the message is simple.

Who am I talking about? Geico.

Now, I haven't really bought into their service because my insurance is through State Farm, and since I've always had it through them, I plan to keep it that way for a while.

However the Geico commericals are entertaining enough that I feel like I have a new best friend...The Geico Gecko. Here's a picture of us chillin' out at the beach.

He's a great pal! He's friendly, has a cool accent, drives a cool car, and is overall a great friend.

Now you may be looking at the picture and wondering...why is the Geico Gecko so tall? Isn't he only like 3-5 inches tall. Well...that's a secret, but I'll go ahead and share it with you.

He's really about 5 feet 6 inches tall, however with camera placement, special lighting, and special computer effects, Geico can make him look 3-5 inches tall.

Well, just wanted to share that I've made a new friend!

Good News Narnia Fans!

Today I read a very brief artical about the next installment of "The Chronicles of Narnia."

Looks like production on "The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian" is scheduled to begin in January with a release date during the summer of 2008. Then in 2009, production will begin on "The Voyage of the Dawn Treader."

It's not much right now...but it's a start. Just thought I'd pass on the information incase you hadn't heard yet!

Ever seen the inside of a bachelor's fridge?

Well you're about to. First let me explain a few things.

I'm doing the Dave Ramsey thing. Which, for those of you who don't know, is basically to pull together every extra dollar you have and apply it to you smallest debt so you can pay it off. Once that's gone you apply that payment to the next smallest debt, all while living on the same amount you were while paying off debt #1. Make sense? It's called the "Debt Snowball" and I'm rollin'!

Since I've been doing this, I try not to over spend, especially at the grocery store. Over spending at the grocery store can cause a few problems.

First...junk food becomes available within the home.

and...

Second...over spending leads to over purchasing, meaning you might buy things you'll never use, so that food eventually goes to waste.

I've been doing a really good job of not over spending at the grocery store...however finding something for dinner can sometimes be a struggle.

In a second I'll show you a few pictures of the inside of my fridge.

Men...you'll recognize the sight because you too at one point or another were a bachelor.

Women...here's a possible glimps back to a frightful time when you first looked into a boyfriend's fridge, or just a glimps of something scary.

Mom...send food...please.

There it is. I'll go ahead and list it's contents:

  • Carrots
  • Onions
  • American Cheese Slices
  • Pepperoni
  • Milk (bought yesterday)
  • Squirt (bought yesterday)
  • 2 Tubs of butter...one low fat
  • BBQ Sauce
  • Pickels...well actually it's a jar of pickles, but I think there are only 2 left
  • Taco Sauce
  • Basamic Vinegrette Salad Dressing...2 kinds...one tasted really bad.
  • Chocolate Syrup
  • One packet of pizza sauce
  • Some parmasean cheese...maybe a 1/4 cup?
  • A little jar of garlic
  • and...a little bottle of lime juice.
It seems like a lot when I write it all out, but what could you make?

There's a couple of up close shots for you, so you can make sure I didn't miss anything.

Now...what should I make for dinner? Hmm.

What is it about my chair?

I'm afraid to mention this in fear that my fellow colleagues will increase their frequency of what I'm about to discuss.

It's a phenomenon really, I'm not sure of the cause, I've looked and there isn't a sign anywhere.

What am I referring to? Well, first let me set the situation up.

My cubicle is placed in proximity to the fax machine, a printer, and the copier. This is nice because I get to see people through out the day. However...for some reason as people either walk up to me (because they need a "favor") or head to one of the listed machines, they grab the back of my chair and pull on it.

Ha ha ha...not funny. Reason...I feel like I'm going to tip over! So I kick my legs up and brace myself for a fall before I realize what's happening. Reflexes!

If you don't understand what I'm describing I've drawn up a little diagram to help illustrate this phenomenon.

Like I said earlier, there's no "kick-me" style sign on me, or my chair, anywhere, so why do they do it? Must be some impulse within the human body that one must do this action when walking past anothers chair. The reason I say that it's an impulse in our bodies is because I too find myself doing the same thing to other people.

Why do we do it? Much like the "Tootsie-Pop"...the world may never know.

Flanders!

A man more associated with Faith than Pope John Paul II or Mother Teresa.

Who is it?

Ned Flanders from the ever popular cartoon series..."The Simpsons"

I recently read an article about how the popluarity of the television show has inspired organizers of a Christian Arts Festival in Cheltenham, England to dedicate an evening to Ned.

"Ned Flanders Night" was added to this year's Greenbelt Festival because an article in Christianity Today, suggested that Ned Flanders was more associated with Faith than real-life religious figures like Pope John Paul II or Mother Teresa!

An orgainzer of the Flanders tribute said that Ned sets a good example for Christians.
"He's a very ardent believer...and at the same time he's very humble. Although he's got very strong beliefs, he's not thrusting them down anyone's throat and he's not being upleasant about it."

I think that this is very interesting. Although "The Simpsons" carries material that isn't quality for a family environment, it's very cool to see that Ned can be slipped into that kind of environment/media and that without realizing it an audience is exposed to Christian values.

I've always believed that everyone takes in information in different ways. Throughout school I was a more visual person (ie. graphics, picture, drawing it out...etc.) however other people were textual (ie. like to read the information.)

Having Ned as part of "The Simpsons" is bringing Christian values to those who maybe not be receptive in other areas of life or medium (television.)

Just thought I would share, it was kind of an interesting topic. If you'd like to read more about Ned Flanders click HERE.

Reality Talent shows...I give up.

Alright, for the 3rd week in a row...still no "Lost."

You win Reality T.V. I can't fight you anymore. I haven't heard enough bad singing, or had enough of people embarrassing themselves, you win.

Since I've given up the fight, I thought I would make a plea. Do a reality talent show on something I might find interesting.

I've come up with an idea that I think would be kind of fun. There would be laughing, crying, and lots of America!

I call it: "American On-Air D.J."*

What do you think? I'm sure that you can figure out the premise by the title. The titles of the other reality talent shows descibe the show to a "T"

The show is about what is says...a reality talent search for America's Newest Disk Jockey.

There'll by tryouts, and finalists, semi-finalists and all of the stuff that goes with that.

So basically you challenge contestants who want to be the next big D.J. by subjecting them to different challenges. Have them be on air at stations of different formats; ie. Christian, Country, Rock, Classical, etc. and even have them compete in different markets; ie. New York, College Radio Stations, Middle of nowhere.

It's kind of a combinations of "Last Comic Standing" and...radio.

Then you let America decide by lots and lots of voting...which will result in lots and lots of ratings.

I think it'd be fun!

Again, I can't fight Tuesday/Wednesday night television anymore, I give up. Just give me my "American On-Air D.J." please!

~jeremy

(*If for some reason this idea is read by an actual producer of reality shows and something similiar to my idea is actually used, I will need to be compensated for my ideas, if you don't...that's not very nice of you!)

There's a new Joker in town...

As a Batman fan, today is a good day. Today they (whoever "they" are) announced the official title of the next Batman movie, and confirmed who would be playing "the clown prince."

**Spoiler**

In the end of "Batman Begins" Jim Gordan is talking with Batman and is telling him there's a new threat in town and he's been leaving calling cards...a Joker playing card. Meaning the Joker will be in the next installment of the newly renovated Batman movies.

So the confirmed title of the new movie is: "The Dark Knight" Very cool! The confirmed actor to portray the Batman's nemesis will be Heath Ledger. There was a lot of speculation as to who was going to play the Joker; Robin Williams, Jude Law, Steve Buscemi, and others, but in the end Ledger got the role.

In the spirit of Batman, I put together this picture of the Dark Kight and the Joker (animated) with Christian Bale (who will again be playing Batman) and Heath Ledger's faces. Enjoy and I cannot wait for this movie...too bad filming doesn't start until next year.

Interesting little phenomenon.

I keep seeing trailers on television for the movie "Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby"

In the trailer they make a joke about how Will Ferrell's character has 2 first names, Ricky and Bobby.

Well when I was growing up, that was always something that made me different from other kids, since my name is Jeremy Henry. Jeremy is a first name and so is Henry.

In talking with Brian, he informed me of the fact that there are a lot of us "2 First Name" people out there, especially in Nascar. Flabbergasted I tracked down a list of all the Nascar racers for this year, to see who else has 2 first names, I was surprised.

Keeping with only first names that I recognize, and are recognized by the general population here is my list:

  • Mark Martin
  • Jeff Gordon
  • Tony Stewart
  • Carl Edwards (minus the "s"; if that doesn't count there's still more)
  • Ryan Newman (like the Newman from "Seinfeld")
  • Dale Jarrett
  • Robby Gordon
  • Kenny Wallace
  • Brent Sherman
  • Mike Wallace
  • Bill Elliott
  • Jimmy Spencer
I'm sure there are more that I missed, or the racer is retired, but I'm glad to see...I'm not alone.

Maybe it's time for me to take up a new career as a Nascar driver. Or maybe I could get together a JQ99 racing team and drive the JQ99 car...wait...I think number 99 is already taken. I'll keep you posted!
