The Announcement Wii've Been Waiting For!

It's coming! And you aren't as excited as I am that's okay, you will be.

Nintendo announce a price and a launch date for their next gaming console.

First and formost, I believe that the "Wii" is the next step in gaming evolution. This system has a lot to offer new gamers as well as old gamers, especially those as old as I am.

Get this...not only will you be able to play the new Wii games, but you can play Gamecube games (Nintendo's current console) and with the Wii's "Virtual Console" you'll be able to play classic games from Nintendo's N64 console, Super Nintendo, and yes even the original NES (Nintendo Entertainment System.) However, like all games, these virtual console games will cost money too.

The other cool advancement in my mind is the controller(s). It's time for the gamer to be in the game. The controller not only has buttons that you can push, something we've been doing since...well a long time ago, but for certain games, the controller will react to motion. So in the upcoming "Legend of Zelda" game, when you swing the controller, the character on the screen will swing his sword. OH YEAH!

Now are you getting the idea? No...well then picture a tennis game where you have to swing the controller in order for your character to swing the racket inside the game. I will say that, probably the first year that the Wii is out, there will be bugs and the games will utilize the technology on a minimum. However, once the system gets through the bugs and starts stretching their imagination to use the controllers in a different way, you're going to see...no you're going to experience something fantastic.

So...why have you read this far...probably because now that you know what to get for Christmas, a Birthday, your child's Christmas, you'd like to know when you can actually get one and how much it's going to beat your wallet.

Without further ado, the Nintendo Wii will release November 19th here in the U.S. for a price of......(drum roll)....$250! That's oh about $50 - $150 less than the Xbox 360 and $250 - $350 less than the upcoming Playstaion 3! Did you just hear that? Yep...that was your wallet saying, "Thank you! Ahhh....."

Oh by the way, when the system launches, you get a game with it. "Wii Sports" which features tennis, baseball, golf, bowling, and boxing games all to show off the technology and the controller, as well as get you used to it.

That's all. Well except, here is a collage of all the Wii pieces. You're welcome.

Nothing can beat the original system and since I have just beat Super Mario Bros. it is time to put in Super Mario 3, cross your fingers and hope it works-those old systems are touchy.
